In Rajasthan”s Thanagazi constituency, Kanti Prasad of the Indian National Congress (INC) won by defeating Hemsingh, who was the candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), by a margin of 1939 votes. Kanti Prasad got 67350 votes, which was 39.9 percent of the total vote cast for the seat. On the other hand, Hemsingh received 65411 votes, which was 38.75 percent of the total votes polled in the constituency. A total of 168807 votes were cast in Thanagazi. Rajasthan”s Thanagazi constituency went to the polls on November 25.
Notably, Kanti Prasad of INC has been a member of the Rajasthan legislative assembly since 2018. In 2023, there were a total of 2,20,409 eligible electors in Thanagazi, of whom 1,17,912 were male and 1,02,497 were female and of the third gender. And the electorate gender ratio in 2023 was 869 female voters for every 1000 male voters.
In the 2018 Rajasthan assembly elections, Kanti Prasad won in Thanagazi by defeating Hemsingh. Kanti Prasad got 64079 votes, which was 41.07 percent of the total votes polled in the constituency. Hemsingh secured 34729 votes, or 22.27 percent of the total vote share in the Thanagazi constituency. BJP candidate Rohitash Kumar, who came in third, has garnered 22735 votes, which was 2.77 percent of the total votes polled in the constituency. Thanagazi is a town in Thanagazi Tehsil in the Alwar district of Rajasthan.
