Lalith Yadav from the Indian National Congress (INC) won the Mundawar seat in the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly election by securing 1,05,735 votes. This was 57.83 percent of the total votes polled in the constituency. Lalith Yadav defeated Manjeet Dharampal Choudhary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by a margin of 35624 votes. Manjeet Dharampal Choudhary got 70111 votes, which was 38.48 percent of the total votes polled in Mundawar.
He was a former member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, representing the Mundawar constituency of Rajasthan. Anjali Yadhav of the Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) came in third and has garnered 2986 votes. In the 2018 Rajasthan election, Manjeet Dharampal Choudhary won the seat with 73191 votes. He defeated Lalit Yadav by a winning margin of 17602 votes.
In the 2023 Rajasthan assembly elections, apart from the Indian National Congress (INC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), even various regional and smaller parties tried to make an impact. According to the Election Commission, out of the total 200 seats, the BJP won 115 and the INC secured only 69.
