Subhash Meel Of BJP Wins Rajasthan's Khandela Constituency

BJP’s Subhash Meel won the 2023 legislative assembly election in Khandela constituency. BJP defeated INC (Indian National Congress) candidate Mahadev Singh who is the current MLA of Khandela. BJP garnered 114,236 votes while INC garnered 71,597 votes. The independent candidate Banshidhar Khandela came to third position by getting 11,808 votes.

Khandela is a city and municipality in the Sikar district of the Indian state of Rajasthan . Khandela is associated with the origin of Khandelwal Jains (Sarawagi), Khandelwal Banias and Khandelwal Brahmins. The name of Khandela is believed to have been originated from the Kshatriya kingdom named Khadaksen  Kharwad. The location of Khandela is very beautiful itself. The town is surrounded by hills of Aravali range and also few natural water reservoirs. As of 2011 census ,the population of Khandela is 29,044.

In 2013’s election, BJP’s Banshidhar won 81,837 votes by defeating Congress’s Giriraj . Banshidhar was voted 81,837 votes and Giriraj voted 46,443 votes. The total number of electors in Khandela in 2013 was 203289.

In 2018, Khandela had total of 240,456 electors for the assembly election.  Mahadeo Singh was the winning candidate from the Khandela constituency in 2018 under the banner of IND (independent). He was the independent candidate in Khandela. Mahadeo Singh garnered a total of 53,864 votes and he defeated Banshidhar Bajiya who is associated with BJP. Banshidhar Bajiya got 49,516 votes and Subhash Meel came to third by getting 44,772 votes.

Overall, according to the latest report of election conducted in Rajasthan, out of the total 199 seats, BJP is leading with 111 seats and INC with 61 seats. IND is currently in third position. IND won 4 seats and leading with 8 seats. Along with Rajasthan, the legislative assembly election were held in four other states including Madhya Pradesh Telangana Chhattisgarh and Mizoram.
