In the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections, the Narayankhed Assembly Constituency witnessed a resounding victory as Patlolla Sanjeeva Reddy of the Congress clinched the top spot. He secured a remarkable 91,373 votes, surpassing his rival, Mahareddy Bhupal Reddy of the BRS, who garnered 84,826 votes.

The key candidates in the intense electoral battle include Patlolla Sanjeeva Reddy from the Congress ,Jenawade Sangappa from the BJP and Mahareddy Bhupal Reddy from the BRS, alongside several independent candidates.

Patlolla Sanjeeva Reddy who run in the 2018 elections and lost to Mahareddy Bhupal Reddy of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (now BRS), is making a major comeback with this win. With a significant lead of 58,508 votes and a 55 per cent vote share in 2018, Bhupal Reddy received 95,550 votes, while Shetkar received 37,042 votes and a 21 per cent vote share. And in the 2014 elections, Patlolla Kishta Reddy emerged victorious with 62,347 votes, leading by 14,746 votes, defeated Mahareddy Bhupal Reddy of the TRS. This dynamic history showcases the fluctuating political situation of Narayankhed.

In the latest electoral battle, the Narayankhed Assembly Constituency witnessed an impressive voter turnout of 81 per cent. The constituency falls under the Zahirabad Lok Sabha constituency, and in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Telangana Rashtra Samithi”s B.B. Patil secured the seat with a margin of 6,229 votes, triumphing over Madan Mohan Rao of the Congress. Patlolla Sanjeeva Reddy”s victory is indeed a testament to his unwavering commitment and Congress”s strategic efforts to regain its foothold in Telangana, marking a pivotal moment in the party”s political journey.
