Thrissur: Ollur Records 79.60% Turnout In Kerala Assembly Elections 2026
The Ollur Assembly constituency in Thrissur recorded a strong voter turnout of 79.60% during the Kerala Assembly Elections 2026. This reflects strong public participation, with voting proceeding smoothly throughout the day. People were seen waiting in queues from morning till evening to mark their votes. Officials confirmed that polling remained peaceful across booths. The voter turnout at Ollur was 17.46% till 9am on April 9. By 11am the turnout was 35.59%, it was 52.82% at 1pm, 66.05% by 3pm, and 77.08% by 5pm before crossing 79.60% by evening.
Ollur is one of the 140 Assembly constituencies in Kerala that went to polls on April 9. It is a general category constituency with a total of 1,86,824 voters, including 90,700 men and 96,123 women. .
The Ollur Assembly constituency falls within the Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency. The previous election voter turnout in Ollur in the 2021 Assembly election was 73.87%, while it was 77.93% in 2016, and 74.47% in 2011.
In the 2021 Assembly election, LDF’s K Rajan won from the Ollur constituency with 76,657 votes, securing 49.09% of the total votes. He defeated Jose Valloor of the Indian National Congress who received 55,151 votes (35.31%), while BJP candidate B. Gopalakrishnan polled 22,295 votes (14.28%). In the 2016 election, Adv. K. Rajan of CPI also won the seat, defeating M. P. Vincent of the INC by a margin of 13,248 votes.
