The BJP candidate and incumbent MLA Vijay Bharatlal Rahangdale is in lead with over 14,000 votes. The two-time MLA has secured 31,145 votes, surpassing NCP (SP) candidate Ravikant Khushal Bopche who has secured 16,409 votes so far.
In the 2019 state assembly elections, Rahangdale won the assembly seat, defeating Bopche by a margin of 25,560 which was 15.10 percent of the total votes cast for the seat. The BJP had a vote share of 45.18 percent in 2019 in this seat.
In the 2014 state assembly elections, Rahangdale won the seat defeating Bansod Dilip Waman, an independent candidate, by a margin of 13,098 which was 7.79 percent of the total votes cast for the seat. The BJP had a vote share of 32.2 percent in 2014 in this seat.
In the 2009 Maharashtra assembly elections, Bopache won by defeating Rahangdale by a margin of 623 votes.

The ruling Mahayuti consists of the BJP, the Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led breakaway faction of the Shiv Sena, and the deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar’s faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). The opposition, the INDIA bloc’s MVA or the Maha Vikas Aghadi, has the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), or SS (UBT) led by former CM Uddhav Thackeray, the NCP (SP) faction led by Sharad Pawar and the Congress.
As the ruling Mahayuti alliance hopes to continue in power, opposition Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) strives for a strong comeback.

The BJP has fielded 149 candidates, Shiv Sena (Shinde) 81, and NCP (Ajit Pawar) 59. In the opposition, the Congress has fielded 101 candidates, Shiv Sena (UBT) 95, and NCP (Sharad Pawar) 86.
This assembly polls mark first one in the state after Shiv Sena and NCP split in 2022, and 2023 respectively.
