Get ready to witness the horrific world of fleet-footed zombies, because the spine-chilling franchise of Danny Boyle’s post-apocalyptic directorial is back. The makers dropped an exciting trailer of the third installment of the franchise, 28 Years Later, today. So, let’s dive into the world of zombies, where humanity is questioned.

This time, the sequel is led by newcomers Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, and Ralph Fiennes, fighting off zombies. Among all of this, the question that the internet is constantly buzzing about is the presence of Cillian Murphy.

Though the original movie star, Cillian Murphy, had been reported to be reprising his role as Jim in addition to being an executive producer, he appears absent from the trailer and is not listed as a cast member in the promotional material. However, fans speculate over the actor’s presence in a particular jarring clip of a zombie, which has a resemblance to the Oscar-winning actor.

But there is no official confirmation about the actor’s presence in the film.

The trailer offers a terrific glimpse into the post-apocalyptic world. It features Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s character walking out from a secure community and venturing outside in England with a bow and arrow. The trailer also gives glimpses of Jodie Comer’s character, carrying a small baby. Moreover, the spine-chilling recitation of Rudyard Kipling’s Boots poem in the background adds another layer of thrill and creepiness to the trailer.

So, if you are wondering what this new installment of the two-decade-long franchise could offer, here is the official synopsis of the film.

It reads, “It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.”
