Exciting news ahead as Aamir Khan’s much-awaited Sitaare Zameen Par has got a much-awaited update. Directed by R. S. Prasanna, the thematic sequel to the 2007 classic Taare Zameen Par released a vibrant poster with the release date of the film.
Unlike the 2007 film, where he played the now-iconic art teacher, the colourful poster of the spiritual sequel shows Aamir in a basketball coach role.

Starring Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh in the lead roles, Sitaare Zameen Par will hit theatres on June 20.
The poster also features ten debutant actors, including Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar. The film will also feature Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Sonali Kulkarni. Interestingly, Darsheel Safary will also make a special appearance.
While the first film saw a kind and empathetic Nikumbh leading Darsheel Safary’s Ishaan Awasthy, this film will feature Aamir as the “rude and politically incorrect” Gulshan. Previously, the actor had shared that if Taare Zameen Par made people cry, the sequel would make them laugh.
Sharing the poster, Aamir Khan Productions wrote, “A film celebrating love, laughter and happiness.” The poster also had the tagline “Sabka apna apna normal,” signifying an inclusive theme and that everyone has a unique identity.

Produced under the actor’s banner, Aamir Khan Productions, the lyrics of the film are written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, and music is given by the iconic trio of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The screenplay is written by Divy Nidhi Sharma.
The film is reportedly based on the Spanish movie Champions (2018) which revolves around a basketball coach who works with a group of students with disabilities. Knowing Aamir Khan, it is certain Sitaare Zameen Par will bring its own flair to the story.
The film will mark Aamir’s return to the big screen after a long time. He was last seen in the 2022 Laal Singh Chaddha alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan. After the film, a remake of the Hollywood classic Forrest Gump, failed to make a mark at the box office, Aamir took a break from films.
