Actor Siddique Absconding: Lookout Circular Issued In Sexual Assault Case.

Actor Siddique has absconded as he was rejected by the court on anticipatory bail. The Kerala Police have circulated a lookout issued on Tuesday against actor Siddique at airports over allegations of sexual assault, following the Kerala High Court’s rejection of his anticipatory bail plea in a sexual assault case on Tuesday.

According to Mathrubhumi News, authorities are preparing for his arrest as the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been dispatched to Kochi. Currently, Siddique is nowhere to be found at his Kochi residence and his phone is switched off suggesting that he may be evading authorities. Police sources confirm there are no technical grounds to delay the arrest. However, as per the reports, Siddique has plans to appeal the High Court’s verdict in the Supreme Court and this move may potentially delay or halt the arrest proceedings.

The case was linked to the revelation of junior artists after the Hema Committee report revealed the issues actors and supporting technicians face in the Malayalam film industry, which was released last month after it was submitted four years ago. Since then, both the general public and many actors have been demanding action from the government on the accusations mentioned in the report. The report has revealed that casting couch and various other forms of malpractices are existent in the industry.

Later, the survivor filed a case against actor Siddique claiming that he misbehaved with her causing significant distress at a young age. Siddique also filed a complaint against the junior artist alleging that the case had no bounds and no credibility and pleaded for anticipatory bail. The court later denied his bail stating that the case against him was of serious sexual assault and could not be granted anticipatory bail.
