Actors Asif Ali and Amala Paul’s psychological drama Level Cross made a mark at the 16th Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFF) 2025. This directorial by Arfaz Ayub created a record by winning the second Best Indian Film award at the film festival.

Organised by the government of Karnataka, the prestigious film festival witnessed a tough contest in the Indian cinema section, featuring films from all over the country. Asif Ali’s mindblowing thriller, Level Cross, has won the Second Best Indian Film Award in the Indian Cinema Competition (Chitrabharati) section of BIFF.

This film was written and directed by debutant Arfaz Ayub, a former associate of Jeethu Joseph and produced by Ramesh P. Pillai under the Abhishek Films banner.

Thrilling the audience with an interesting, exciting, and layered script, the screening of the film at the BIFF received an overwhelming response catering to the film’s win.

Level Cross has captured everyone’s attention with its unique approach and compelling storytelling on exploring psychological complexities. This film stars Asif Ali, Amala Paul, Sharaf Dheen, Dyna Sursh, and Lal Jose and Indrans. Cinematographer Appu Prabhakar’s stunning imagery and Prem Nawaz’s production design created a visually arresting experience that complemented the film’s deep narration.
