Asif Ali is all set to deliver a heartwarming entertainer with the release of his film Sarkeet today, May 8.  The 1001 Nunakal fame director Thamar teams up with Asif Ali, Divya Prabha, Deepak Parambol, Remya Suresh, and Prashanth Alexander for his exploration on parenting. Thamar, as the writer of the film, has carefully crafted his second directorial with the themes of connection, care and consequences.

Asif Ali, who had an impressive start in 2025 with the success of his mystery thriller Rekhachitram, has opted for a role that explores the complex layers of childhood and parenthood.

The trailer introduces Asif as a man who is juggling through the process of job hunting while trying to find his footing in a new city. Amidst the chaotic process of finding himself, he stumbles upon an opening for a shadow teacher tasked to support a hyperactive child named Orhan in school.

There began director Thamar KV’s explorations of parenting, childhood and the infinite layers of life. Divya Prabha and Deepak Parambol portray the emotions of desperate parents trying to understand and manage the unpredictable behaviour of their son. Asif’s character enters the screen as a saviour, exploring the twisted threads of emotions.

The film boasts a solid technical crew with music composed by Govind Vasantha, cinematography by Aeyaz, editing by Sangeeth Prathap, and production design by Visvanathan Aravind.
