"Baazigar And I Turned 30 Years"; Shilpa Shetty Remembers Her Debut Movie As It Marked 30 Years

Shilpa Shetty thanked her fans for their love bestowed upon her over the years as she marked thirty years in the film industry along with her debut movie Baazigar. On Tuesday 12th November, Baazigar, which was helmed by Abbas and Mustan Burmawalla marked thirty years since it started to amaze audience with the iconic blending of hero and anti-hero into one figure.  The movie was Shilpa Shetty’s first and Shah Rukh Khan’s first breakthrough. It was also Kajol’s earliest success.

Taking to X (formerly twitter), Shilpa Shetty walked down then memory lane to recall and thank audience and the crews of the movie who had ‘more faith in her than herself’. She thanked Ratan Jain and Venus production for being her guidelight, the Abbas-Mustan duo “for handling me with kid gloves” and having more faith in her.

She also thanked Kajol for befriending her and unknowingly teaching her the art of being fearless. She Dhadkan star thanked Shah Rukh Khan, the “True Baazigar” for being her one and only acting school and said that though she was his co-star, she was his fan “then, now, and forever”.

 

 

Baazigar continue to be a masterpiece with its iconic songs like ‘Baazigar O Baazigar’ and ‘Ye kaali Kaali Ankhein’. Made on $40 million, the movie as declared as a blockbuster with the worldwide gross of $320 million. The movie chronicles the life of Ajay Sharma who seeks revenge against a a business tycoon Madan Chopra. The movie is considered as a cult film with its soundtracks, dialogues, storylines and cast performance often reverberates among the movie lovers. The movie was the first collaboration between Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan, who then went on become the iconic onscreen pair.

On Tuesday, November 12th, Kajol also remembered the movie and shared how it was “the first time” of many things for her. She shared how the movie bring for the ”so many good memories and unstoppable laughter…to this day, every sing and dialogue brings a huge smile to my face”.
