BLACKPINK's Lisa Makes History: The First K-Pop Star To Perform At Oscars

For the first time in history, a K-pop star will light up the stage at the Oscars. Guess who is rewriting history this time? It’s the global star Lisa, a member of the globally renowned K-pop group Blackpink.

The Academy is revealing new details about what awaits to surprise the audience at the 97th Oscar Awards. American rapper and singer Doja Cat, British singer-songwriter Raye, and Queen Latifah will be teaming up with Blackpink’s Lisa to light up the stage of the biggest night in Hollywood.

The trio will perform their debut collaboration, Born Again, at the event, which was released weeks before. It will mark the first live performance of Born Again. It was pre-released on February 7 as one of the tracks on Lisa’s upcoming first full-length album, ALTER EGO.

About this star-studded collaboration, the Academy Award took to X and wrote, “Three global superstars. One epic Oscars moment. Doja Cat, Lisa of Blackpink, and RAYE take the stage for a showstopping celebration of cinema.”

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo will light up the stage by performing songs from their roles in the hit musical Wicked, for which they are both nominated. “A spellbinding moment awaits. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande take the Oscar stage for a performance you won’t forget,” the Academy wrote on X about Erivo and Grande’s performance.

Along with the A-list stars, the Los Angeles Master Chorale will make an appearance at the awards show. This year’s Oscars is executive-produced by Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan. Conan O’Brien will host the ABC-streamed Oscars on March 2 from Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre.

The Academy Awards will be broadcast live by ABC and are scheduled to begin at 7 pm Eastern/4 pm Pacific. Fans can watch the event at 5.30 am on Tuesday (March 2).
