The eight-year-old boy named Sri Tej has been declared brain dead after being injured in the stampede during the premiere of the movie Pushpa 2 at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4.
The stampede occurred when thousands of fans rushed to catch a glimpse of the movie’s star, Allu Arjun, which led to the death of Sri Tej’s mother, Revathi.
Sri Tej has been on ventilator support at KIMS Cuddles Hospital in Hyderabad. According to the hospital, he suffered brain damage due to a lack of oxygen during the stampede. Doctors have indicated that he will require a prolonged course of treatment.

Following the theatre incident, the police arrested the theatre owners and Allu Arjun in connection with the stampede. The theatre management has also been accused of negligence and has been issued a show-cause notice by the police.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner CV Anand and Telangana Government Health Secretary Dr. Christina recently visited KIMS Hospital to check on Sri Tej and assured that the government will closely monitor his condition and hope for his swift recovery.
Actor Allu Arjun, who was arrested on December 13, was granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court and was released the next morning. Three others, including the theatre owner, senior manager, and lower balcony in-charge, have also been arrested in connection with the case.

Allu Arjun broke his silence recently over social media’s never-ending question of him not visiting the victim and his family. He said that he has been advised not to visit him and his family at this time due to the ongoing legal proceedings.
