The eight-year-old boy named Sri Tej has been declared brain dead after being injured in the stampede during the premiere of the movie Pushpa 2 at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4.

The stampede occurred when thousands of fans rushed to catch a glimpse of the movie’s star, Allu Arjun, which led to the death of Sri Tej’s mother, Revathi.

Sri Tej has been on ventilator support at KIMS Cuddles Hospital in Hyderabad. According to the hospital, he suffered brain damage due to a lack of oxygen during the stampede. Doctors have indicated that he will require a prolonged course of treatment.
