Shah Rukh Khan To Play Anti-Hero In 'Pushpa' Director's Political Drama? (Image-X/SukumarWritings)
After the massive success of director Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, the expectations for the filmmaker’s upcoming projects are just skyhigh. Followed by the successful collaboration with the renowned actor Allu Arjun, Sukumar is now planning to offer something extraordinary with the global star, Shah Rukh Khan.
Shah Rukh, who is currently working on his upcoming King, has been searching for an interesting story. As per latest reports, Sukumar and the Jawan actor are reportedly in talks for an upcoming political drama.

Even though it was initially speculated to be a psychological thriller, recent updates reveal something different. As per reports, the duo will be collaborating on a rural political drama, where SRK will be playing an anti-hero sort of character.
The political drama is also expected to blend Shah Rukh Khan’s mass appeal and his global superstar image. The core of the film focuses on social issues while exploring concepts like caste and class oppression.
But, in order for the project to materialise, the audience has to wait a little longer. Since both SRK and Sukumar are currently involved in their respective projects, the new film will not begin until 2027 or later.

Shah Rukh has his hands full with King, an action-packed venture set to begin filming in May 2025 in a start-to-finish schedule, and Pathaan 2, the much-anticipated sequel to his 2023 blockbuster.
Meanwhile, Sukumar is currently working on RC 17 with Ram Charan and Pushpa 3: The Rampage. His previous directorial venture, Pushpa 2, shattered records at the box office by collecting around Rs 1,800 crores worldwide. The sequel that hit theaters on 5 December 2024 also emerged to be the highest-grossing Indian film of the year and the third highest-grossing Indian film worldwide.
