The agents are back!! Actors Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are set to join forces once again for the next installment of the spyverse, Pathaan 2. And here is what we know about the upcoming sequel.
The next chapter of the spy action-adventure film is about to begin. The blockbuster action entertainer of 2023 will be getting a high-octane sequel, which will bring back the renowned spies Pathaan and Rubina.
So, Pathaan 2 will be a part of Yash Raj Films’ expansion of its spy universe. And this time, the film will be bringing back the two acclaimed spies with Ashutosh Rana (who played the role of Colonel Sunil Luthra) for its second round of storming the theaters.

As per the reports, the team is still focusing on the script, aiming to offer a mind-blowing spy thriller. Moreover, the sequel will not only carry the Pathaan’s story forward but also lay the groundwork for larger conflicts, which await in the upcoming installments of YRF’s Spy Universe. Reports also reveal that it was due to the extensive planning and intricate storytelling that the scripting process took so long.
As the result of the long wait, the writers Sridhar Raghavan and Abbas Tyrewala have crafted an exhilarating, high-stakes script that promises to surpass the first installment in both scale and intensity. It was also mentioned that SRK was highly impressed by the script and now is all set to launch the production.

While Siddharth Anand, who directed Pathaan, will not be returning for the sequel, Aditya Chopra is on the lookout for a new director to bring a fresh perspective to SRK’s spy character.
Meanwhile, preparations for Pathaan 2 will begin in the last quarter of this year. Currently, Shah Rukh is busy filming King, where he shares the screen space with his daughter Suhana Khan. The film is expected to hit theaters around 2026.
