Actors Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor’s romantic drama Raanjhanaa is coming to big screens again to recapture the audience with its mind-blowing narrative. As the directorial of Aanand L Rai is all set to launch its sequel, it’s time for the audience to revisit the moments of love and laughter.

The re-release of films in theaters always brings nostalgia along with it, but what makes this re-release even more special? Because this re-release is announced as the franchise is gearing up for its next sequel, Tere Ishk Mein. Notably, this film marks the Bollywood debut of actor Dhanush.

So, let’s take a look back at the heartwarming story of Raanjhanaa, which explores themes such as love, sacrifice and destiny. Set against the backdrop of Varanasi, a small-town boy, Kundan, has been in love with his childhood friend, Zoya (Sonam Kapoor). However, Zoya develops feelings for Akram (Abhay Deol), leading to a story of unrequited love and personal choices.
Written by Himanshu Sharma, this film was jointly produced by Eros International and director Aanand. This romantic drama stars Sonam Kapoor, Abhay Deol, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Swara Bhaskar.
This film was later dubbed in Tamil and released a week later with the title Ambikapathy. This 2013-released blockbuster film received a positive response from the critics and attained commercial success by earning around Rs 104 crore at the box office. The song tracks composed by the legendary composer, AR Rahman, also received great reception from the audience.
