Chhaava, the Hindi word, translates to lion’s cub. Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj was reverently known as the Chhaava of the Maratha Kingdom. This film is an adaptation of the eponymous Marathi novel written by Shivaji Sawant with the same name.

Chhaava is a biopic on Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It narrates the story of the valour, courage, and vengeance of the king Chhatrapathi Sambhaji Maharaj. It focuses on his bravery and how he challenged the Mughal empire and fought for his country.

Vicky is known for portraying biopic films and excelling in his layered performances. The actor has previously delivered two biopics, namely Sardar Udham (2021) and Sam Bahadur (2023).
