On the occasion of the lead, Advi Sesh’s birthday, the makers announced a major replacement of the film by introducing Mrunal Thakur on board. The team confirmed the star’s presence through the first-look poster, which unveils the action avatar of the actress. In a surprising turn of events, Mrunal Thakur replaced Shruti Haasan in the upcoming action drama Dacoit: A Love Story.

The Sita Ramam star will share the screen with actor Adivi Sesh in the directorial debut of Shaneli Deo.

With this, Mrunal will enter into the action genre with the promise to entertain audiences to the fullest. The film follows an angry convict plotting revenge against his former girlfriend who betrayed him.

The project, produced by Supriya Yarlagadda and co-produced by Suniel Narang, is currently being shot simultaneously in the Hindi and Telugu languages. Deo collaborated with Adivi Sesh on the story and screenplay. Production is currently underway in Hyderabad, with plans for an extensive shooting schedule in Maharashtra.

Breaking from tradition, Adivi Sesh chose to announce his leading lady on his birthday, rather than making it about himself. Take a look at the gritty poster of the film, revealing the new star on board.

On joining the cast, Mrunal expressed her excitement and said that Dacoit is a raw and authentic story that blends rustic elements with a stylised vision. She also said that the character, which she would be portraying, is different from anything she had done before. She also revealed that it’s the depth and the intensity of the script that drew her close to Dacoit.
