The epic collaboration of Dulquer Salman and Rana Daggubati with their new venture Kaantha kickstarted production on Sunday. Marking their first-ever collaboration, the duo is set to explore the complex dynamics of their relationship.

Written and directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, the film has now officially begun its production with the inaugural clap given by actor Venkatesh. The auspicious pooja ceremony of Kaantha was held at the Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad, as a joyous beginning along with the cast and crew.

The film will be jointly produced by Rana’s Spirit Media, an arm of Suresh Productions, and Dulquer’s Wayfarer FilmsAs an add-on to the excitement, the film will mark the first-ever collaboration of the duo sharing the screen. Dropping the major announcement, Rana on X tweeted “SpiritMediaIN and DQsWayfarerFilm brings to you a story that blends artistic storytelling and innovative filmmaking.”

As per reports, Kaantha is set in 1950s Madras and explores the complexities of human relationships and societal change during a dynamic period in history. The bilingual film will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.

About producing Kaantha, Rana said that it is the ideal film to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Suresh Productions and mark the new beginning with Spirit Media. Dulquer also expressed his enthusiasm, stating that this venture was a beautifully layered story that captures the depths of human emotions and gives an action lot of scope to perform. The film promises to transport the audience to a bygone era, capturing its essence while telling a story that resonates with contemporary emotions.
