Following the massive success of the Telugu blockbuster Lucky Baskhar, Dulquer Salmaan returns to the big screen in a powerful new avatar with the multi-lingual film Kaantha.

The makers released a special birthday poster revealing the look of veteran actor Samuthirakani in the film.


The intense character poster has already garnered significant attention, especially as Samuthirakani is said to play a pivotal and strong role alongside Dulquer.

The film is directed and written by Selva Mani Selvaraj and produced under the banners of Wayfarer Films, owned by Dulquer Salmaan, and Spirit Media, owned by Rana Daggubati.

Other producers include Jom Varghese and Prashanth Pottluri. The collaboration brings together two major production houses.

Kaantha is set against the vibrant backdrop of 1950s Madras and promises a period drama packed with rich visuals and emotional depth.

Apart from Dulquer and Samuthirakani, the cast includes Rana Daggubati and Bhagyashree Borse. Bhagyashree’s look from the film was also recently unveiled and was met with appreciation.

This film also marks Wayfarer Films’ first venture into a non-Malayalam language production. Though made primarily in Tamil, Kaantha will also release in Malayalam, Telugu, and Hindi, making it a true pan-Indian project.

Cinematography is handled by Dani Sanchez-Lopez, with music composed by Jhanu Chanther. The editing is done by Lewellyn Anthony Gonsalves, production design by Ramalingam, costumes by Poojitha Tadikonda and Sanjana Srinivas, and PR coordination by Shabari.
