Meet Bhagyashri Borse, The Rising Pan-India Star Everyone Is Searching After 'Kaantha'

With the release of Kaantha, starring Dulquer Salmaan, one name has suddenly dominated search engines and social feeds alike: Bhagyashri Borse. The young actor, who has been steadily building a pan-India presence across Hindi, Telugu, and now Tamil cinema, has emerged as the latest breakout sensation.

Her performance in Kaantha has not only introduced her to a wider Southern audience but has also positioned her as a promising new face in Indian cinema.

Born on 6 May 1999 in Aurangabad (now Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar), Maharashtra, Bhagyashri Borse had an early life markedly different from most Indian actors of her age. She spent seven formative years in Lagos, Nigeria, completing her schooling before returning to India.

The multicultural exposure and constant relocation shaped her worldview, confidence, and adaptability—qualities that would later serve her well in the entertainment industry. After returning to India, she pursued business management in Mumbai while simultaneously stepping into the world of modelling.

Bhagyashri’s entry into films was not sudden. She spent years preparing, auditioning, and navigating the modelling-to-film transition.

Her screen journey began with Yaariyan 2 (2023), where she appeared in a brief role as Raajlaxmi Cariappa. Even with limited screen time, her presence caught attention. This was followed by a short but memorable appearance in Kabir Khan’s Chandu Champion (2024), where she played journalist Nayantara.

Bhagyashri’s true breakout came with her lead debut in Telugu cinema with Mr Bachchan (2024), directed by Harish Shankar and starring Ravi Teja. Her performance earned her the SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut – Telugu, a milestone that cemented her arrival.

In Kingdom (2025), directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri and starring Vijay Deverakonda, Bhagyashri played Dr Madhu, a performance that further broadened her acting spectrum.

Though the film received mixed reviews, critics singled out her emotionally grounded presence. Everyone praised her on-screen chemistry with Vijay Deverakonda in the song ‘Hridayam Lopala’. It became clear that she was not just another debutante but a talent capable of holding her own alongside established stars.

Her Tamil debut, Kaantha (2025), opposite Dulquer Salmaan, has proved to be a turning point. The film introduced her to Tamil audiences, and her portrayal of Kumari has become one of the most searched topics online.

She is reportedly set to play the lead opposite Ram Pothineni in Andhra King Taluka, and has also been cast alongside Dulquer Salmaan again in upcoming Tamil productions.
