Dulquer's This Movie Surpasses Empuraan's Teaser Views In 24 Hours.

Since the teaser of L2: Empuraan, the highly-anticipated trilogy was released, everyone has been talking about how it will dominate every other Mollywood movie teaser, garnering the most views in a day.

However, in a surprising twist, Empuraan’s teaser failed to break the record for the most viewed teaser in 24 hours. That distinction still belongs to Dulquer Salmaan’s  King of Kotha, directed by debutant Abhilash Joshi.

Within 24 hours of its release, the teaser of King of Kotha garnered an impressive nine million views on YouTube, leaving Empuraan’s five million views in its wake.

Empuraan‘s teaser, which was released on the occasion of Aashirwad Cinemas’ 25th anniversary was expected to shatter records and create a new benchmark for Malayalam cinema. However, despite its grand launch and massive hype, the teaser fell short of expectations in grabbing views.

While Empuraan‘s teaser may not have broken the record for most viewed, it has still managed to impress everyone with its unavowed approach. The teaser has garnered an impressive 3,09,000 likes in 24 hours, surpassing the record held by Mammootty’s CBI 5: The Brain.

Helmed by the actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran, ‘L2: Empuraan‘ sees the superstar  Mohanlal reprising his role as Stephen Nedumbally, also known as Abraham Qureshi. Empuraan is slated for release on March 27 and is expected to be a pan-Indian release.

Followed by the blockbuster success of the 2019 film, Lucifer, L2: Empuraan was announced in October 2023. Exploring politics, crime, and power dynamics, the film was shot in about 20 foreign countries, including the UK, the US, and Russia. The production of the film was wrapped in December last year.

L2: Empuraan, the second instalment of the planned trilogy, boasts a stellar cast with actors Mohanlal, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Shashi Kapoor, Indrajith, Baiju Santosh, Prithviraj, and Saniya Iyyappan.
