Shefali Shah, who is known for brilliant performances in Delhi Crime, Darlings and Dil Dhadakne Do, recollects how she had been “badly trolled” after sharing movie”s trailer. She, then added that she would like to be part of The Kerala Story if she were provided with evidence.
In her recent interview with The Indian Express, actress revealed how she was trolled when she shared the trailer of the movie, The Kerala Story, produced by her husband, Vipul Amrutlal Shah. “I don’t have anything to do with politics. I normally get a lot of love and respect on social media. I shared the trailer of it (The Kerala Story), I cannot tell you how badly I got trolled for it. Like people hated me overnight,” she said.
Continuing further, Ms Shah said, she would want to do a part in the movie, if it was given with evidence, “If I was offered it with evidence, why not? It is as important to be told as Delhi Crime is. But if there was no evidence and if it was imaginary, I would be very wary of it. But I know for a fact that there was, I have read the script, I have gone through all those statements that have come from the government, so why not? And I would have played it even if it was a Hindu woman.”
She then added that according to her, “it was about a woman, it was not about a religion, it was about terrorists.”
Adah Sharma starrer The Kerala Story which revolved around the theme of love jihad was directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Mr Shah. Released in May, movie grossed over Rs. 200 crores in India. Besides, Ms Sharma, the movie features Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani. The movie has also received negative reviews with the criticism that the movie was spreading Islamophobic propaganda.
