Delhi IIT Graduate Murder Case: AIIMS Report Confirms Strangulation, Signs Of Struggle
A preliminary post-mortem report by All India Institute of Medical Sciences has revealed crucial details in a shocking murder case in New Delhi, confirming that the victim showed clear signs of a violent struggle before her death.
The victim was a 22-year-old IIT graduate and a civil services aspirant. She was the daughter of an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer and a dentist.
She was found dead at her residence in Kailash Hills on the morning of April 22.
According to medical experts, these injuries strongly indicate that she tried to resist the attack.
The autopsy was conducted by a team of five doctors led by Dr Sudhir Gupta, head of the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at AIIMS. He confirmed that the cause of death was strangulation.

“There were several injuries on the body, especially on the hands and face. These suggest that the victim struggled before she was killed,” Dr Gupta said. He added that the findings clearly point towards a case of murder.
Doctors also noted signs of blunt force trauma, indicating that the victim may have been physically assaulted before being strangled. This further strengthens the suspicion of a violent attack.
Officials say this medical report is the first major scientific evidence in the case, helping investigators understand what happened in the final moments before the victim’s death.

Sources involved in the probe said that the combination of strangulation and physical injuries suggests the crime was intentional and involved force. “This was not a passive incident. The victim appears to have resisted strongly,” a source told The Indian Express.
Authorities are still awaiting detailed forensic reports. Samples collected during the post-mortem have been sent for laboratory testing, and more clarity is expected once those results are available.
The findings have been shared with the police, who are continuing their investigation into the case. Meanwhile, the accused has been produced before a court as the legal process moves forward.
