Bengaluru Horror: Woman Arrested For Allegedly Tying Up Lover And Burning Him Alive At Home
A shocking murder case has emerged from Bengaluru, where a 27-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly killing her boyfriend in a brutal incident that police say was pre-planned.
According to police, the incident took place on Tuesday afternoon in Anjanagar under the Byadarahalli police limits.
The accused, identified as Prema, allegedly tied up her boyfriend Kiran, also 27, before setting him on fire inside her home.
Both were colleagues at a mobile service provider store in Rajajinagar and had reportedly been in a relationship for nearly two years. Investigators believe the crime may have been triggered after Kiran refused her marriage proposal.
Police said Prema called Kiran to her house after her family members left for work. She allegedly told him she had planned a “surprise” and convinced him to take part in what she described as a playful BDSM act.

Kiran was blindfolded, and his hands and legs were tied with a rope. When he questioned her actions, she reportedly reassured him that it was part of the plan.
However, moments later, Prema allegedly poured an inflammable liquid—suspected to be kerosene or petrol—on him and set him on fire. Unable to escape, Kiran died on the spot.
Hearing screams and seeing smoke, neighbours quickly alerted emergency services. Fire personnel rushed to the scene, and police initially suspected it might be a suicide based on the woman’s statement.
However, inconsistencies in her version and further investigation revealed otherwise.

Police later discovered that the accused had allegedly purchased the inflammable liquid in advance, suggesting premeditation.
Officials also seized her mobile phone, which reportedly contains a recording of the victim’s final moments.
During questioning, Prema gave conflicting statements, at one point claiming she was in the bathroom when the incident occurred. Under sustained interrogation, she is said to have confessed.
A senior officer stated that the crime appears to have been carried out under the guise of a romantic interaction. Nagesh DL said further verification of her statements is ongoing.
Police are awaiting a formal complaint from Kiran’s family. His body has been shifted to Victoria Hospital for a postmortem.
