Inside Out 2, the creation of Walt Disney is racing towards grossing $800 million so far, as it prepares to close June with a target of $1 billion mark worldwide.
Marching towards the weekend to create its history among the animated movies to set a billion mark at the box office, with its positive reviews from critics, the film has already grossed $835.5 million worldwide within the end of its second week since its release. Ranking on the top of the highest-grossing film of 2024, it had the third-biggest domestic opening weekend for an animated film.

Creating new history in the animation world within just 14 days, it has already topped as the 10th highest-grossing animated movie of all time in North America, according to Deadline report. Turning ‘June gloom’ into ‘June bloom’, this sequel has shattered any number of records since beginning its global run just over two weeks ago.
Through this lane, the movie is expected to create its record at the box office surpassing the previous blockbuster animation movies, with The Lion King (2019) the highest earner at $1.6 billion, followed by Frozen 2 (2019) at $1.4 billion, and the 2023 summer smash The Super Mario Bros Movie with $1.3 billion.

Frozen II, from Pixar’s sister division Walt Disney Animation Studios, is the top-grossing animated film of the time at $1.45 billion globally. The last animated film to cross $1 billion was Illumination and Universal’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie in 2023, while the last Pixar title to do so was Incredibles 2 in 2019. Inside Out 2 is expected to become only the eleventh film to jump the $ billion mark and the eighth from either Pixar or Walt Disney Animation around this weekend.
