Jayaram-Mammootty Starrer ‘Abraham Ozler’ Streaming On Disney-Hotstar
Jayaram-Mammootty starrer ‘Abraham Ozler’ is streaming on Disney Hotstar now. The crime-thriller directed by Mithun Manuel Thomas was in the news earlier when it was released as it turned out to be a runaway hit and the biggest grosser in Malayalam actor Jayaram’s career. The movie has, reportedly, raked in more than Rs 40 crores (a decent amount for the South Indian state’s movie industry to be called a blockbuster). The revenge-thriller, which was released in the second week of January this year, was commended for the spectacular acting performances of Jayaram, Mammootty, Anaswara Rajan, Adam Sabiq, Jagadish and Saiju Kurup.
In Abraham Ozler, although it was marketed as a Jayaram movie, Mammootty’s extended special appearance garnered all the attention in the first days of release and that helped the movie to find a momentum in the box office.
Jayaram’s character ACP Abraham Ozler, who is struggling with the trauma he encountered after is family was murdered during a vacation, takes up an investigation responsibility of a serial murders happening in his city. This investigation ultimately leads him to Alexander and there unveils many stories from the past, happened in a medical college in North Kerala.
The twists in the flashback present some of the best acting performances of Abraham Ozler, those include the characters of Anaswara, one of the emerging actresses in Malayalam, as a medical student and Adam Sabiq, a newcomer who stole all the limelight when the movie was released, as young Alexander.
Jayaram, who has more than 200 movies in his credits from various languages, found his mettle as a police officer who is strangled in the unresolved struggles of past and skillfully maneuvered trajectory of an investigative officer in the present.
Star of Mammootty’s latest hit Bramayugam, Arjun Ashokan, has also comes to the screen in Abraham Ozler as a killer who never reveals what he did to Ozler’s family.
