Jigarthanda DoubleX, featuring Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah in the lead roles, is all set to make its OTT debut. Netflix India announced that the Tamil period action-comedy film will start streaming on the platform on December 8. Jigarthanda DoubleX, helmed by popular director Karthik Subbaraj, was released in theatres on November 10.

The movie will be available on Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The OTT giant also announced that Jigarthanda DoubleX will soon be released in English as well. “It’s time to double the excitement as Jigarthanda DoubleX is coming to Netflix on 8 December with Double the action and Double the fun in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi!” said Netflix in an Instagram post on December 1. Jigarthanda DoubleX portrays the story of a filmmaker trying to make a movie with a real-life gangster.
Jigarthanda DoubleX is a prequel to Karthik Subbaraj”s 2014 film Jigarthanda. Apart from Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah, the movie has a stellar lineup, including Naveen Chandra, Nimisha Sajayan, Shine Tom Chacko, Kapila Venu, Vidhu, and Theni Murugan. The movie, produced by Kaarthekeyen Santhanam, Alankar Pandian, and S. Kathiresan, was well received by the theatre audience. National award-winning cinematographer Tirru is the director of photography, and the music for the movie is by Santhosh Narayanan.
