As Lokesh Kanagaraj”s success trail continues unbroken with recent Thalapathy starrer Leo, all eyes are on his next directorial venture. The director is currently working on his next project, where Rajinikanth will be seen in the lead. Tentatively titled Thalaivar 171, the movie is going to be Mr Kanagaraj”s sixth film. As per the recent update by News18, actor-director Raghava Lawrence is in discussion for  portraying the role of antagonist in Thalaivar 171.

Mr Kanagaraj has made it clear before that Rajinikanth”s film will be a standalone film,  and it won”t be a part of Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). The movie is planning to begin shooting on March or April next year. Thalaivar 171 will be produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures. The music will be scored by Anirudh Ravichander.

On the work front, Rajinikanth was recently seen in Nelson Dilipkumar”s Jailer which was a blockbuster. The movie has collected over Rs. 550 crore worldwide. He will appear in a cameo role in Aishwarya Rajinikanth”s upcoming movie, Lal Salaam. Besides, he will be seen next in TJ Gnanavel’s Thalaivar 170. The movie presents a stellar cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Manju Warrier, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Dushara Vijayan, and Ritika Singh.

Mr Lawrence was recently seen in P. Vasu”s Chandramukhi 2. Karthik Subbaraj”s Jigarthanda DoubleX, and Durai Senthil Kumar”s Adhigaaram.

Meanwhile, Mr Kanagaraj has planned a brilliant line-up of his upcoming films, including “Kaithi 2,” “Rolex,” “Vikram 2,” and there are reports that “Leo 2” is also in plans.

As it enters day 15 of release, Leo has collected over Rs.550 worldwide and inching closer to Rs. 600 crore. Besides Vijay, the movie features Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priya Anand, Madonna Sebastian, Mansoor Ali Khan, and Mathew Thomas in important roles.
