L2: Empuraan Trailer Review: Complete Mayhem Loading; Mohanlal, Prithviraj in Full Force
The much-awaited trailer of L2: Empuraan is out. The Malayalam thriller starring Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Abhimanyu Singh, Eriq Ebouaney, Jerome Flynn, Andrea Tivadar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Kishore, Saikumar, Baiju Santhosh, Fazil, Sachin Khedekar, Saniya Iyappan, Nyla Usha, among others, is out. The second instalment of the Prithviraj-directed Malayalam thriller-drama Lucifer, written by Murali Gopy, is set to hit the big screens on March 27.
Mohanlal returns as Khureshi Ab’raam, also known as Stephen Nedumpally, while Prithviraj reprises his role as Zayed Masood, Ab’raam’s hitman. Most of the characters from Lucifer make a comeback, alongside new additions from Bollywood and international cinema.

The Empuraan trailer packs a lot into its runtime. It picks up right where Lucifer left off, showing that Stephen is no longer the man we once knew. Much of the trailer extends what we saw at the end of Lucifer—the immense power and influence of Khureshi Ab’raam and his international travails. The visuals span multiple locations outside India, depicting Ab’raam as a leader involved in global affairs, with governments seeking his assistance (or as it is shown in the trailer).

From there, the trailer shifts back to Kerala, where everything began. But this time, Stephen is more than just a protector. Here, he has “blossomed between the father and son—the flower of darkness and the head of the dark spheres.” Since Bobby’s downfall, Kerala has been plagued by enemies, and Govardhan, the narrator, informs the viewer that Stephen’s help is needed to save God’s own country.

In L2: Empuraan, Stephen will save Kerala, while Khureshi Ab’raam will save the world.
