Stand-up comedian and singer Munawar Faruqui has recently purchased an apartment in a luxurious high rise project in Mumbai. The apartment which is an under construction in Mumbai’s Wadala was purchased for Rs 6.90 crore.
The stand up comedian’s new home is situated in Lodha Aura, an under construction premium project developed by Marcotech Developers Limited of Lodha Group. According to the Square Yards, the apartment spans 164.25 sq.m, which includes three dedicated parking spaces. The 40-story tower offers luxurious 3 BHK and 4 BHK apartments with a range of amenities. Faruqui’s purchase was a part of primary market transaction, made directly from the developer.

This transaction was finalized on this September 16 and came with a stamp duty of Rs.36.6 lakh and registration fee of Rs.30,000 as per the square yard documents. In the last five years, Wadala has been a prime real estate hotspot having close proximity to Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). Moreover, it also has close proximity to Mumbai airport and Navi Mumbai.
Munawar Faruqui, the stand up comedian who is known for his controversial jokes and criticism has recently issued an apology for his joke about the Konkani people. This issue created an uproar and Nitesh Rane, the BJP MLA of Maharastra posted a threatening video saying, “Won’t take long to send a green snake like you to Pakistan”, and this comment from a political figure added fuel to the outrage.

However, the fans of the comedian offered their support and some even referred to the politician’s remark as a political game. Prior to this issue, he also faced backlash for allegedly mocking Lord Ram, leading to his arrest and subsequent bail. This incident also resulted in severe online trolling and cancellations of several of his shows.
