Days after actor Arshad Warsi’s comment over Prabhas and the resulting reaction of actor Nani stormed the internet, Nani has expressed his regret over his comments. The actor expressed his apologies over his poor choice of words.

The whole saga began when Arshad commented on Prabhas’s performance in Kalki 2898 AD. In a recent interview with Samdish Bhatia, Arshad said that Prabhas’s performance in the film was like that of a joker. His comments received backlash especially from Prabhas fans and others.

A few days later, in one of the promotional events of his upcoming Telugu action thriller Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, Nani was asked about the matter. He said, “This must be the most publicity he has got in his life. You are unnecessarily glorifying an unimportant matter.”

Nani’s comment added fuel to the whole issue and sparking a widespread discussion among netizens. Reacting to the same, the actor expressed his regret and said that his choice of words were poor. He also added that it sounded so bad when it was translated.

He also clarified that his reaction was natural because of his love for Prabhas. Nani said that when he later watched “the whole video” featuring Arshad, his perspective changed.

Highlighting the point that the whole thing was blown out of proportion, Nani stated, “But after seeing a lot of reactions on social media, I went back and watched the whole thing in its entirety. So, now I understand it. The whole thing has been blown out of proportion through media and social media. And even my reaction has been blown out of proportion.”

He also expressed his respect for Arshad and said that actors in general need to exercise caution when they share their opinions on a public platform. He said, “Arshad Warsi ji is a very good actor and we all loved him in Munna Bhai, not just north or south, but the whole of India. It’s a household movie.”

Nani also underlined the fact that “when we sit with our friends in our homes, we can rip films and actors apart. But being actors, we need to be extra careful with our choice of words. So, in that way, he and me, both are victims.”
