Sandeep Vanga Reddy’s upcoming ambitious project, Spirit with Kalki 2898 AD star Prabhas, has been creating a buzz for quite some time. With Deepika Padukone reportedly exiting the project, the makers are now eyeing Bagheera actress Rukmini Vasanth for the female lead.

Prabhas’s next film, Spirit, is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and Pranay Reddy Vanga under the banners of T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures.

As per a recent report, the makers are currently discussing with Sapta Sagradaache Ello fame actress. While an official confirmation is yet to be made, it would be interesting to see the actress alongside Prabhas, if true.

For those who are unaware, Deepika Padukone had initially been roped in as the female lead to reunite with Prabhas under Vanga’s direction. However, the actress walked out of the film due to certain professional disagreements.

Reports claim that Deepika had asked for a remuneration of Rs 20 crore along with a share in the film’s profit. She had also demanded for changes in work time and schedules, which seemingly didn’t go well with Vanga, paving the way for her exit.

While the makers claimed she was removed from the project following “unprofessional” behaviour, many came to defend the actress, citing how, in her 19-year film career, no one had ever criticised her work ethic. Several others also argued that being one of the top actresses in India, Deepika had the right to make such demands and criticised the makers of making false claims against her.

Headlined by Prabhas, Spirit is said to be a cop action drama where he’ll play an angry young cop. The film is said to focus on a police officer’s battle against a drug mafia. While the casting is still unclear, Spirit will likely hit the big screens in 2026.
