Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s next ambitious project, Spirit, has faced several setbacks since its announcement. The film stole the spotlight for the reunion of renowned stars Deepika Padukone and Prabhas after Kalki 2898 AD and has now found itself in a recent casting buzz. Recent reports claim that the Singham Again actress will no longer be part of the project.
Deepika has reportedly changed plans due to a series of disagreements. As per reports, she was dropped from the film due to her specific demands that insiders described as “unprofessional.”

Reports state that the actress requested an 8-hour workday, which effectively amounts to only 6 hours of actual shoot time. She also allegedly asked for a massive remuneration of Rs 20 crore—her highest yet—along with a share in the film’s profit. Reports claim that Deepika demanded extra pay for every single day of shooting that extended beyond 100 days.
The demands seem to have caused frustration for the director. Since Deepika and her team proposed the specific demands and expressed their unwillingness to change terms, Vanga asked the Kalki star to back out of the film.
As a result, the director is now looking for a replacement for the female lead after discussing it with the producer.

Earlier reports had attributed a delay in Spirit’s shoot due to Deepika’s pregnancy, with the actress initially stepping away from the film due to scheduling conflicts. However, after Vanga reportedly returned with revised schedules, Deepika was said to have signed on again. As of now, neither the team nor the director has made any official statement regarding her exit from the film.
Spirit is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and Pranay Reddy Vanga under the banners of T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures.
