It’s time for the resurrection of the acclaimed magical series Harry Potter. The quest for the golden trio of wizards: Harry, Hermione, and Ron is officially underway.
The Harry Potter series is in works with HBO and the studio is searching for three young actors to portray the leading wizards of the series. In the vision to create a new era for the acclaimed series, the makers have opened casting call. The team is looking for actors between the ages of 9 and 11 to play the “golden trio.” The makers also emphasised that the actors must also be residents of the United Kingdom or Ireland.

“We are committed to inclusive, diverse casting,” HBO said in the casting call. The announcement further read, “For every role, please submit qualified performers, without regard to ethnicity, sex, disability, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other basis protected by law unless otherwise specifically indicated.”
To be a part of the acclaimed series, the aspiring actors are asked to submit two self-tapes before Oct. 31. They should use their accents in both clips, HBO said. The first video should be 30 seconds max and include a short poem or story of the applicant’s choosing. It can be from a favorite book, a poem, a monologue from a play, or something the applicant has created themself, according to HBO. The only stipulation is that it can not be anything from Harry Potter, the studio added.

In the second video, the applicant should tell the studio a bit about themself, including their date of birth, height, and where they live. The video, which should be one minute max, should include a part where the applicant describes any family member, friend, or pet they are particularly close to, according to the studio. Moreover, all the applications must be submitted by a parent or guardian, HBO said.
As per Casey Bloys, the Chairman of HBO, the series will dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all these years. He also assured the fans that this series would be a faithful adaptation.
