"Absolutely Right": Elon Musk Backs J K Rowling In Her Latest Take On Transgenders
Elon Musk endorsed British author J K Rowling’s latest take on the transgender issue. The Harry Potter author has been grabbing headlines with her stance on the issue, gaining herself the label of “transphobic”.
In a recent media interaction, the author said that the ‘best cure’ for gender dysphoria is to let children go through their puberty rather than allowing them access to puberty blockers.
Reposting an article on the discussion, Musk said, J K Rowling “is absolutely right”.
“Almost every child goes through some kind of identity crisis during puberty. It is deeply wrong to make them permanently infertile with ‘puberty blockers’. If they still wish to transition as adults, provided they are fully informed of the risks, they can then make decisions as consenting adults”, he said.

The article highlighted when Rowling had posted a TalkTV clip featuring Labour culture secretary Lisa Nandy, who defended the ban on private puberty blocker prescriptions. She wrote of the debate as, “The times they are a-changin'”.
Responding to the backlashing comments, the author said, “the vast majority of children grow out of gender dysphoria if allowed to go through puberty. The single best cure is letting nature take its course”.
Despite being at the receiving end of severe backlashes, Rowling held her stance strong. In a writing published on The Times, she argues that she chose to speak up on the issue because she would have “felt ashamed for the rest of my days if I hadn’t”.
“I’d come to believe that the socio-political movement insisting ‘trans women are women’ was neither kind nor tolerant, but in fact profoundly misogynistic, regressive, dangerous in some of its objectives and nakedly authoritarian in its tactics”, she added.

Rowling called the puberty blockers, a “terrible medical scandal”. She said, “I believe that what is being done to troubled young people in the name of gender identity ideology is, indeed, a terrible medical scandal”.
The puberty blockers are used to delay the effects of puberty. They are sometimes prescribed to the transgender people to temporarily stop the developments of secondary sex characteristics. It allows patients more time to solidify their gender identity, without developing secondary sex characteristics, giving the transgender youth a “smoother transition”.
When the UK government banned prescription of puberty blockers to minors under 18, in March this year, Musk responded to it by calling it “sterilization drug”.
Last week, Elon Musk said he “had enough”, and will move SpaceX and X out of California over a law that bans schools from forcing teachers to notify parents when their child changes their gender identity.
The billionaire said he would relocate the companies’ headquarters to Texas after California Governor Gavin Newsom signed the first-of-its-kind law barring policies that require educators to disclose when a student asks to use a different name or pronouns.
