Altman Dismisses Musk's App Store Allegations, Accuses Him Of Manipulating X
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman dismissed Elon Musk‘s recent allegation that Apple is favouring ChatGPT over rival AI apps to get top app rankings in the App Store. Altman criticised how Musk manages his social media platform X, arguing it is used to benefit his own companies while harming competitors he dislikes
Musk on Monday threatened to sue Apple over alleged antitrust violations related to these rankings.

In a post on social media platform X, Musk wrote: “Apple is behaving in a manner that makes it impossible for any AI company besides OpenAI to reach #1 in the App Store, which is an unequivocal antitrust violation. xAI will take immediate legal action.”
The Grok AI chatbot app is owned by xAI, the artificial intelligence startup founded by him.
Refuting the claim, Altman wrote a reply soon after Musk’s post. “This is a remarkable claim given what I have heard alleged that Elon does to manipulate X to benefit himself and his own companies and harm his competitors and people he doesn’t like.”

“I hope someone will get counter-discovery on this, I and many others would love to know what’s been happening. But OpenAI will just stay focused on making great products,” Altman further added.

This is not the first time Altman and Musk have been engaged in a war of words. Elon Musk co-founded OpenAI but eventually parted ways with the company. He has been at odds with them since the launch of his own AI company.
