Nivin Pauly’s Malayalam Series Pharma To Stream On JioHotstar From December 19

Pharma, an upcoming Malayalam-language drama series starring Nivin Pauly, is all set to premiere on JioHotstar on December 19, 2025. Directed by P. R. Arun, the series is based on true incidents and offers a realistic look into the inner workings of India’s pharmaceutical industry.

The series features Nivin Pauly in the lead role as K P Vinod, a young medical representative who enters the pharma industry in his early twenties. Veteran actor Rajit Kapur also plays a key role, adding depth and intensity to the narrative.

The show is produced by Krishnan Sethukumar under the banner Movie Mill.

Pharma follows the journey of a middle-class boy trying to find his place in a highly competitive and often corrupt system.

Starting out as a medical representative, Vinod struggles to understand the unspoken rules of the industry. As the years pass and he climbs the professional ladder in his thirties, he is forced to make difficult choices, including standing up against unethical practices and corruption within the pharmaceutical sector.

The series explores themes such as ambition, morality, power, and personal growth. It highlights the challenges faced by ordinary employees in large corporate systems and sheds light on the pressures of survival, success, and integrity.

Apart from Nivin Pauly and Rajit Kapur, the cast includes Narain, Shruti Ramachandran, Veena Nandakumar, Muthumani, Binu Pappu, and Nikhil Ramachandran in important roles.

Production of Pharma began in October 2023 and wrapped up in April 2024. The series had its first public screening at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) on November 27, 2024, where it received attention for its grounded storytelling.
