Actor Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s romantic action thriller Thandel is all set to hit the theaters tomorrow, February 7. The anticipation over the release of the film is sky-high. Allu Aravind, the producer of the film, recently revealed the reason behind casting Sai Pallavi, which resonates with the rootedness of her character in the film.
For the unversed, Thandel follows the story of a fisherman and the unexpected challenges which turn his life upside down. As per the trailer, the film is built including the elements of culture, habitat, and livelihood, which might resonate with a wider audience.

Thandel, a real-life inspired film, stars Naga Chaitanya, Sai Pallavi, Prakash Belawadi, Rao Ramesh, Karunakaran, Babloo Prithiveeraj, Kalpa Latha, and Kalyani Natarajan. The narrative explores themes of love, revenge, courage, and patriotism, weaving together action, drama, and emotion to captivate the audience.
While explaining the reason behind casting the Amaran actress, Allu Aravind said, “casting Sai Pallavi was a commercial decision.” Highlighting the in-depth nature of the story, he said that it demands rootedness and the genuineness of the character. He also said, “I couldn’t bring in just any fair-skinned actress from Bombay for this role.”
He further added that Sai Pallavi has an extraordinary ability to bring life to such characters. Aravind expressed his immense satisfaction with her portrayal of Sathya.

Apart from Thandel, Sai Pallavi is also making waves with her upcoming role as Mata Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming Ramayana. The actress will star alongside Ranbir Kapoor, who portrays Lord Ram, while Yash plays Raavan and Sunny Deol takes on the role of Lord Hanuman. The epic film is set to release in November 2026.
