Dhanush’s third directorial, Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam (NEEK), is now the sensation in Tamil cinema. Under the direction of Dhanush, a bunch of young actors are bringing an interesting story surrounding Gen Z love with twists and turns.
As the film is all set to hit theaters tomorrow, February 21, fans are quite interested to know more about the lead of the film: Pavish Narayan. The actor is making his debut in NEEK along with young stars Anikha Surendran, Priya Prakash Varrier, Matthew Thomas, and Siddhartha Shankar.

Who is Pavish?
The young and talented Pavish Narayan is 22 years old, born and brought up in Chennai. His mother, Vimala Geetha (Dhanush’s sister), is a dentist by profession and an entrepreneur, while his father, Dr. Phani Babu, is a pediatric dentist with over 15 years of experience in Chennai. He has one younger brother named Anaghya. He completed his schooling and college education in Chennai.
Pavish is also the nephew of Dhanush and director Selvaraghavan. Much like how Selvaraghavan launched Dhanush, now the Raayan director is launching his nephew with this film.

His breakthrough in cinema
Even though Pavish’s initial aim was to become a cricketer, he later found his passion for cinema. He entered cinema as an assistant director for the movie Vaathi (2023), which was directed by Venky Atluri and featured Dhanush as the lead. Pavish even appeared in a scene in the film, though it went unnoticed.
NEEK: Pavish’s Debut in the Tamil Film Industry
His breakthrough came when Dhanush, planning his third directorial venture after Raayan, decided to cast him as the lead actor in Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam (NEEK). This decision echoes the way Selvaraghavan launched Dhanush’s career with Thulluvadho Ilamai.
NEEK introduces Pavish as the protagonist of the film, who gets entangled in the concepts of breakup, marriage, and ambition. The film promises to explore Gen Z love with interesting twists and turns, promising to be a game changer in his career.

Pavish to Prabhu: The actor’s preparation for NEEK
NEEK is allegedly said to be a semi-biopic of Dhanush. Even though there is no confirmation from the makers, certain factors of the film, like the protagonist’s name, Prabhu (Dhanush’s real name, Venkatesh Prabhu), and his ambition to be a chef (Dhanush wished to become a chef), arose speculation about the same.
In order to prepare for his character, Pavish watched a list of films suggested by Dhanush such as VIP, Uthamaputhiran, Thiruvilaiyaadal Aarambam, and Thiruchitrambalam.
Pavish Narayan’s entry into the Tamil film industry follows a family tradition of cinematic talent. With his debut in NEEK, he has taken his first steps towards establishing himself as a promising actor in Tamil cinema.
