Renowned actress Pooja Hegde has been shining in multiple film industries, constantly entertaining her fans. The actress, who is now looking forward to the release of her upcoming action entertainer Retro with Suriya, recently revealed the reason behind her absence in Telugu cinema.
The Ala Vaikunthpurramuloo actress, who was predominantly working in Telugu cinema in the past, has not done any film in the language since 2022. This raised concerns among the fans, with many expecting her presence in the Telugu film industry.

Recently, the actress, now busy promoting her upcoming Karthik Subbaraj directorial, starring opposite Suriya, addressed this concern. As per reports from 123 Telugu, the Beast actress was waiting for the right script to rebegin her journey in Telugu.
She further explained that she never intended to step away from the regional film industry. Instead, she was waiting for a script that met her creative expectations. Pooja also revealed that she has signed a new Telugu film and promised to update more details about the project at the right time.
Pooja Hegde’s previous Telugu release, Acharya, released in April 2022, turned out to be a commercial failure. The film, which starred Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, and Sonu Sood, received criticism for its weak direction and outdated screenplay.

In Retro, the upcoming directorial of Karthik Subbaraj, Pooja will be sharing the screen with actor Suriya for the first time. The film, aiming for a May 1 release, also stars Joju George, Jayaram, Nassar, Prakash Raj, Shreya Saran, and others.
Produced by Stone Bench Films and Suriya’s 2D Entertainment, the film is expected to revolve around the concepts of love, violence, promise, rowdyism, and hooliganism, presenting a high-octane action saga.
