Thalapathy Vijay’s highly anticipated political thriller Jana Nayagan has been progressing on its production front. The crew and the TVK chief’s presence in various regions of Tamil Nadu have been making headlines in recent times. While director H. Vinoth and his team have remained tight-lipped about the film and its plot, the new look of the actor from the sets of Jana Nayagan has leaked online.
Touted to be a political thriller, Jana Nayagan, Vijay’s supposed final film, is packed with prominent stars like Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Narain, among others.

Even though it is announced that Jana Nayagan is the official remake of Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari, headlined by Nandamuri Balakrishna, other details about the project were kept under wraps. However, a still of the actor from the sets has leaked online.
Soon the picture went viral on the internet and created a significant buzz among audiences. In the viral photo, Vijay can be seen in a police uniform, creating a similar image of his Theri cop look. As a result, the fans of the actor are now screaming that “Vijayakumar is back.” For the unversed, Vijayakumar is the name of the character played by Vijay in Theri.

Fans also expect that the film will complete his police trilogy, which also includes Valimai and Theeran Adigaram Ondru.

Jana Nayagan, the 69th film of the actor, is scheduled to be released as a Pongal special entertainer on January 9, 2026.

The film is being widely shot in Chennai and Kodaikanal to offer a stunning visual experience. Recently the film also got into a controversy for allegedly violating Kodaikanal’s strict ban on plastic by using plastic bottles during their shoot in the region.
The music is composed by the trending music director Anirudh Ravichander. With Sathyan Sooryan handling cinematography and Philomin Raj taking charge of editing, the film promises to be a technically sound and visually striking film.
