
"Art Can Wait": Kamal Haasan's 'Thug Life' Audio Launch Postponed Amidst India-Pak Tensions
Veteran actor Kamal Haasan is all set to deliver a gritty action thriller with legendary director Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life. The landmark reunion holds great expectations for the fans. Though the team initially planned to hold the audio launch on May 16, the makers have now rescheduled the event.
Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam, the brilliant minds behind the cult film Nayakan, reunited after three decades for the upcoming gangster film, Thug Life. This time, the duo has packed the film with talented actors like Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan, and Abhirami, among others.

Concerned with the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the makers have decided to postpone the audio launch. The announcement was officially made by the production house, Raaj Kamal Films International, citing national sentiments across the country’s border.

The official statement from Kamal Haasan emphasised that it is not a time for celebration but rather a moment to stand in solidarity with the nation’s armed forces. The short notice read, “As our soldiers stand firm on the frontlines with unflinching courage in defense of our motherland, I believe it is a time for quiet solidarity, not celebration.”
Stating that “Art can wait. India comes first,” the actor added that the citizen must respond with restraint and solidarity. The notice further read, “At this time our thoughts are with the brave men and women of our armed forces who stand vigilant, safeguarding our nation. As citizens, it is our duty to respond with restraint and solidarity. Celebration must make way for reflection.”

Amidst great anticipation, the world of these thugs will be unveiled on June 5 with the film’s release.
