Vijay's Jana Nayagan Not Releasing Till April?
Actor Vijay’s much-anticipated film Jana Nayagan has once again run into trouble. The film, which fans have been eagerly waiting for, has now been delayed indefinitely.
The production team confirmed that the movie will not be released before April 30, leaving fans disappointed and uncertain about the new release date.
York Cinemas Management shared an official update on Sunday regarding the postponement.

In their statement, they informed audiences that Jana Nayagan will not be released before April 30. However, they did not announce a revised release date.
The distributor also requested moviegoers who had already booked tickets to claim refunds as soon as possible. Those who have not yet received their refunds have been asked to contact the respective theatres immediately to process them without further delay.

Additionally, York Cinemas assured that loyal membership holders will receive priority booking access once the new release date is confirmed.
The delay comes amid ongoing legal issues related to the film’s censor certificate. Jana Nayagan was submitted for certification to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on December 18, 2025. Although the makers reportedly agreed to the suggested changes, the certificate was not issued.
Following this delay, the producers, KVN Productions, approached the Madras High Court seeking directions for certification. On January 27, a two-judge bench set aside a previous order that had directed the CBFC to certify the film.
The court stated that the board should be given sufficient time to respond and sent the matter back to a single-judge bench.
Later in February, the High Court allowed KVN Productions to withdraw its petition. The producers decided to let the revising committee handle the certification process instead. Despite this, the film is still awaiting approval.
Jana Nayagan, which is reportedly a remake of the 2023 Telugu hit Bhagavanth Kesari, was initially planned for release in October 2025.
The date was later shifted to January 9 to complete production work. Now, with fresh setbacks, the release has been pushed further without a confirmed date.
