Superstar Rajinikanth has been admitted to the Apollo hospital in Chennai for an elective procedure related to his abdominal pain, which has been scheduled for Tuesday.

In the recent development, reports claims that the veteran actor has successfully undergone an elective procedure, during which a stent was placed near his lower abdominal area. The procedure was successfully carried out by a team of three speciality doctors. Currently, he is stable and being kept under observation, reported by CNN.

The actor was admitted on the hospital on Monday night after experiencing a severe stomach pain. Updating the actor’s condition, his wife Latha has reassured the fans stating that everything is well. Moreover, the actor is expected to be discharged in 2 to 3 days.

The hospitalization of the veteran actor has created a concern among the fans and the public has been offering prayers for the speedy recovery of the actor. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, MK Stalin has also offered a message over the speedy recovery of the actor on his X post.

The 76 year old actor has been busy with his upcoming release Vettaiyan, slated to hit the theaters on October 10. The actor who was involved in the production of his another film Coolie directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, had returned to Chennai only a few days ago.

About his medical history, the actor had undergone a kidney transplant in Singapore, a decade ago. Recently, he opted out of his much talked about political plunge citing health reasons.
