Release Of Kangana Ranaut Movie Emergency Postponed

Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency won’t be releasing on September 6. Industry specialist Taran Adarsh announced on social media that the movie release has been postponed. The postponement is expectedly due to the delay in certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Earlier, Kangana Ranaut, also the director of the movie, had complained that the certification has been stopped because of the threats.

“There are rumours doing the rounds that our film, Emergency, has been granted Censor certificate. This is not true. In fact, our film had been cleared but certification has been stopped because many threats were coming in. Death threats. The Censor Board members are getting threats. We are under pressure not to show the assassination of Indira Gandhi, not to show Bhindranwale, not to show the Punjab riots. I don’t know what will be left to show then… This is unbelievable for me and I am very sorry for the state of things in this country,” Kangana said in a video statement last week.

According to reports, the censor body has asked the makers of the movie for more cuts as the movie is discussing many critical issues like emergency, Khalistan and Indira Gandhi’s assassination.
