Kangana Ranaut Questions Hefty Electricity Bill At Manali House, Officials React

Himachal Pradesh: In a recently attended political event in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, actor-politician Kangana Ranaut said that she was shocked upon receiving the electricity bill of Rs 1 lakh for her Manali residence, where she does not even live. Now, a state electricity board official came up with clarification about Ranaut’s claim.

Kumar also said that the domestic electricity connection under consumer number 10000838073 is registered in Kangana Ranaut’s name.

“It is clarified that the connected load of her house is 94.82 KW, which is 1500 percent more than the average electric load for a normal house. She (Ranaut) did not pay her bills from October to December on time,” ANI quotes, as Kumar is saying.

Adding further, official said that the bills for January and February were paid on March 28, the total consumption during which was 14,000 units. Thus, it became clear that the monthly consumption at Ranaut’s residence was ranging from 5,000 units to 9,000 units on average, he added.

The MD of HPSEBL stated that Ranaut has also received a subsidy given by the Himachal Pradesh government on electricity bills.

It was on Wednesday, while attending the event, Ranaut slammed the Congress-led Himachal Pradesh government over the exorbitant bill.
