Heavy Snowfall Disrupts Tourism in Himachal Pradesh; Traffic Snarls in Manali, Shimla, Sissu, Keylong, Atal Tunnel etc.

Shimla, Himachal Pradesh: Heavy snowfall continues to disrupt several tourist locations across Himachal Pradesh for over 30 hours. There have been reports that several vehicles have been struck at multiple points, forming long queues that stretch for several kilometers.

The season, which draws tourists eager to enjoy the winter wonderland, has caused massive traffic snarls along the Kullu-Manali stretch of NH 3, leaving many vehicles stranded.

Many tourists have been made to wait for long days and even forced to spend the whole night inside their cars, unable to reach their destinations. Thousands remain stranded between Kullu and Manali as the company struggled to clear the road. Tourists expressed frustration, saying they came to enjoy the scenery but now simply want to return home. It has also become difficult to leave homestays and hotels to return home.

Heavy snowfall continues to blanket Manali, Shimla, Sissu, Keylong, and other popular destinations of Himachal Pradesh, leading to over 500 roads being closed including national highways, the Atal Tunnel shutdown, and traffic halted at Patlikuhal.
