Another action, crime thriller from Prashanth Neel is on big screens today. Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer Salaar Part-1: Ceasefire, is released in all five languages, including Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada on December 22.

At the box-office, Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki and Salaar will face off. Rajkumar-Hirani directed Hindi film ‘Dunki’ and big budget Telugu film Salaar: Cease Fire- Part-1 were scheduled to be released on December 21 and December 22, respectively. The two films are expected to collect Rs 800-900 crore cumulatively in domestic net box office collections, as per brokerage firm Elara Capital.

Even before the release of the film in the theaters, the film hit headlines with controversies. The production house, Hombale Productions announced earlier that they would be withdrawing the release of their film from PVRInox and Miraj cinemas in the southern states, alleging unfair trade of screenings between Salaar and Dunki, in north India, reports First Post.

Amid the reports, the theaters chains have clarified that Prabhas will release pan India in their multiplexes. “We have come across some speculative media reports about the film SALAAR and its release at PVR INOX Cinemas. We would like to clarify that these reports are incorrect, SALAAR is one of the most anticipated films of the year and it’s releasing across pan India PVR INOX cinemas on the scheduled release date i.e. 22 December 2023 (sic),” an official statement by PVR Inox read, reports News 18.

Fans has gathered outside the theaters at 1 am and 4 am to catch the seat for first day first show of Neel’s action bonanza. And guess what fans has not left no stones unturned in celebrating the ‘Prabhas’ film, from bursting crackers to putting up digital posters.

The movie is set in the crime-ridden fictional city of Khansaar, where Varadha Raja Mannar, role played by Prithviraj Sukumaran gets into a fierce battle to claim the city’s lordship. Salaar, portrayed by Prabhas joins his friend in combating the enemies to help him become the city’s ruler.

Aside from Prabhas and Prithviraj, movie features a stellar cast including Shruti Hassan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Tinnu Anand, Easwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, Ramachandra Raju and many others. The movie is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films. Salaar‘s music is scored by Ravi Basrur in all languages and stunts are choreographed by Anbarivu.
